Welcoming you on a sacred Journey. This drum making weekend is a deep dive of creativity & belonging. We’ll bathe in the glow of the Beltane full moon, making Shamanic Drums as soul vessels & Riverstone Rattles as songful companions, journeying with wild land, cacao, movement, dance, ceremony, stillness & wild prayer in a strongly held, safe & sacred space.
We’ll be working with ethically sourced & hand prepared materials, using water buffalo skins for strong, warm tones with a deep gentle womb resonance. Each drum & rattle will be unique & personalised.
A deeply nourishing way to spend memorable & meaningful time creating these instruments together.

We women of wild & wonder, sisters of moon & water, daughters of earth & sky, journeying together: You are warmly invited to this long awaited drum making workshop in Jersey. We have cooked up a feast of cacao, ceremony, dance, movement & ritual to lift up this Beltane weekend. We’ll be making shamanic frame drums as soul vessels of belonging, & rattles filled with river stones to nourish our songlines & deep waters. All materials are hand prepared with integrity & care, to make lifetime companions.
Dorrie has been drum making for over 30 years & journeying in the wild medicine of Bonnie’s shamanic work, sharing friendship & sisterhood for decades, & we are so happy to be sharing this space. We will have plenty of time out on the sweet land with ash & granite, sun, stars, mist & moonbeams. We’ll be heart sharing, soul singing. Come as you are. We all have our scars, & yet, we make beauty. Many hands making light work. Making light. Making Earth.
We’ll water the fertile seeds of our creativity & plant hope & praise in our generous Earth, finishing with a blessing for these gorgeous drums that are like full bellies of soul memory & guidance.

Dorrie Joy - Is an artist, traditional craftswoman, keeper of ancient crafts & altars. An internationally renowned ceremonial leader. A mother of three & grandmother of two, her work is rooted in sustainability & reciprocity.
She has been making drums for over 30 years, learning from the very best of Indigenous teachers & Elders.
Bonnie McAteer -Is a Medicine woman, her roots are deeply nourished by a 13yr shamanic apprenticeship with the founders of Movement Medicine where she Graduated & trained to the most advanced level, holding ceremonial workshops & teaching internationally Bonnie is an initiated Nusta Paqo (Q’ero), menstruality mentor, womb wisdom guide & mother of two. CACAO CEREMONY
Cacao is a Sacred & beautiful plant medicine that helps us to open our heart & come back into connection with our inner wisdom, it helps us to balance the feminine & masculine energies within us & has been used in ceremony since ancient times.
An Indigenous myth tells us, "whenever the balance between humans and nature becomes threatened, the spirit of cacao will come from the rainforest to open people's hearts & return us all to harmony with the Earth & creation once again".
The way I work with this beautiful heart nourishing plant medicine is that I weave the cacao ritual into a deep embodied guided dance ceremony where we journey within the realms of ritual & embodied prayer, connecting with the elemental forces of creation & working with ancient practices.
I see the spirit & medicine of Cacao as a way to connect with the flowering earth both within us & in the world around us. Within our hearts it awakens the inner flowering earth of remembering the beauty way, reminding us how to walk in beauty, helping us to heal our hearts.
